William G. Nechuta, 85, Mosinee, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, under the tender care of Aspirus Hospice.
He was born May 19, 1940, as the youngest of 10 children to Joseph and Veronica (Bavlnka) Nechuta. He married Nancy Cisler on Jan. 19, 1963, at St. John Lutheran Church, Mosinee.
Bill worked at the Mosinee Paper Mill for 38 years. His hobbies included deer hunting, along with rabbit and squirrel hunting with his favorite dog, Cindy. Bill also enjoyed ice fishing for blue gills. He also enjoyed camping in the UP with extended family and friends. Bill and Nancy took many trips together including a Royal Caribbean Cruise and to Branson, Missouri due to their love of country music but his favorite was the Canadian Rockies. Survivors, include a daughter, Lesa Nechuta, a daughter-in-law, Gayle Nechuta; five grandchildren, Saige (Megan) Sirianni, Jonah (Emily) Sirianni, Ciara Sirianni, Brittney Nechuta and Meagan Nechuta; six great grandchildren, Chaz, Spencer, Ada, William, Giovanni and Gabriel, a sister-in-law, Evelyn Nechuta, a brother-in-law, Ervin (Carla) Cisler Jr., a sister-in-law Pamela Thanig, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, a son, Gary, a granddaughter, Shauna Hackbarth, along with his parents, Joseph and Veronica, brothers, Ben (Virgina), Joe (Dorlin), John, Martin and Charles and sisters Francis Thanig (Glen), Ruth Thanig (Justin), Amelia Osterbrink (Patrick) and Veronica Brandt (Kenneth), brothers-in-law, Gene Thanig and John Krueger, and sister-in-law, Patricia Krueger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Phyllis Smoot will officiate. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com.
