Tony Ignaz Ohly

To his children Nic, Tonya, and Tyler, he was known as Padre. To everyone else, he was a crabby old man that everyone hated to love, but they did. He was rough around the edges, but he had a heart of gold and he loved his children more than anything in the world. If you knew him, you knew he enjoyed duck hunting immensely, and also loved to fish and be on the boat. Tony loved Labrador retrievers, and we love to think that he was greeted in heaven by his first dog and first love, Jake.

He was a simple man, who found joy in the simple things, like a cold mountain dew and a cigarette.

Tony instilled in his family to be strong and never give up on what you love. He always said to be unapologetically yourself, and not to care what the others think. We will continue to do that in his honor.

"Some will walk through the pearly gates, others will ride". 

We love and miss you Padre.

Survivors include children Nicholas, Tonya and Tyler Ohly, his brothers and sisters Karl, Anna, Walter and Molly Ohly, ex-wife Tracy Bessert and many beloved friends.  Tony was preceded by death: father Ignaz Ohly, mother Maria Schneider and niece Jacqueline Ohly. 

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, at the VFW Pavillion at River Park in Mosinee.  Music, and good times will start at 1:00 pm and go until dark.  Food and drinks will be provided.  Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family.  Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
