Ruth Ann Chaney

On Thursday June 12th, 2025, Ruth Ann Chaney, a loving wife and mother of three daughters, sister and friend, passed away at age 84, in Wausau, Wisconsin. Ruth was born on August 21st, 1940, in Hyndman Pennsylvania. She graduated from Shinnston High school. After high school she went to Hagerstown Business School, setting off on a career in medical transcription and office management.

She was introduced to Karl through a coworker at one of her first jobs. That coworker coincidentally would be her mother-in-law.

Ruth had a talent for quilting, enjoyed gardening and watching the birds that visited the many feeders outside their windows. Ruth also had a great time traveling to warm places in the winter with Karl. Ruth's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed having them for visits and weekends most of all.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Francis Karl Chaney, and three daughters: Paula (Dan) Carlson, Cassandra Chaney, and Ann Zaemisch. Her grandchildren (Moira (Tyler) Huffman, Anya Carlson, Jacob Zaemisch), nieces and nephews, and multitudes of extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Dacon Kevin Breit will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
