Ricky Miles Swanson

Ricky M. Swanson, 77, Mosinee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on July 25, 1948, in Ipswich, South Dakota, son of the late, Harris and Loree (Rickard) Swanson. He married his lifelong love Veronica F. Bertsch on June 2, 1973, she survives.

A fun-loving free spirit, Ricky touched many lives and always willing to share his faith. From farming to fishing & hunting to camping, the outdoors was a way of life for him. His loyal and dedicated work ethic extended beyond his professions of farming, cooking and carpentry to the organizations close to this heart. A former 4-H leader, volunteer firefighter, church board member, and active supporter of Carpenters for Christ, Ricky was never one to shy away from hard work, especially if it meant enriching others’ lives. Ricky was most proud of his role as a loyal & dedicated husband; and devoted & active father. His final greatest achievement was spending time with his grandchildren, passing down his love for woodworking and the outdoors.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Veronica; his oldest daughter Ericka and her husband Matthew Napoli and their two children Leo and Isabella; and his youngest daughter Elizabeth and her dog Lexie.

Besides his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother Jack, brother Harris and wife Sharron, and nephew James Swanson.

The family will plan to have two celebrations over the coming weeks in memory of Ricky. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is honored to be assisting the family.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Christ Community Church, 8100 Alderson St., Schofield, WI 54476. Pastor Arnold Allison will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service. Reception to be held after at Gorski’s on the patio.

A second Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at United Church of Christ, 203 N Fourth St, Ipswich, SD. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Reception will be held at the Swanson Farm.
