Carol “Lucille” Richter, 93, Mosinee, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Cecelia (Hook) Jones. She married Robert Richter on Nov. 15, 1947, in Dancy. He preceded her in death on March 28, 2002.
Lucille and Bob farmed in the town of Guenther for many years. She also worked in the food service in the bakery and salad department at the UW-Stevens Point. Her hobbies were reading, word searches, and crocheting prayer shawls, lap robes and baby caps for Aspirus Hospital.
Lucille and Bob spent many years up north on Pioneer Lake in Conover. She loved to fish and spent many happy times on pontoon rides. Faith and family were very important to her. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dancy. She enjoyed family gatherings and seeing everyone having a good time and loved the hugs from all the grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Kolodziej) (John) Sadogierski, Hatley, David (Cindy) Richter, Kronenwetter, and Gene (Diane) Richter, Stevens Point; a son-in-law, David Kolodziej, Mosinee; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Kolodziej, a grandson, Kolton Kramm, and a brother, John Jones.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Dancy. The Rev. Timothy Roser will officiate. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Dancy. Visitation will be again from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the church.
