Mary Rita Purull

Mary Rita Purull, a beloved member of her community passed away on November 29, 2023, at the Rennes Health and Rehab Center. She was born on August 20, 1932, in Mosinee, WI to her parents Martin and Mary Sypnieski. She was married to the love of her life, John Purull on August 20, 1952, he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004.

Mary graduated from Mosinee High School and went on to have a successful career. She worked as the Personnel/Human Resources Manager for K-Mart from the store's opening in 1970 until her retirement in 1995. Her dedication and hard work were instrumental in the success of the store. Colleagues remember Mary for her exceptional organizational skills and her ability to connect with people.

While Mary excelled in her career, she found true fulfillment in her role as a devoted wife and mother. Mary's proudest accomplishment was raising her children and nurturing a close-knit family. Mary was an extremely devout and active member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Her faith played an integral role in her life, guiding her actions and serving as a source of strength during difficult times. She participated in numerous church activities and never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever needed.

In addition to her faith and family, Mary had a few hobbies that brought joy into her life. She loved taking road trips with her beloved husband John, exploring new places together, in their younger years they enjoyed attending Polka Dances. Mary was an outstanding chef and baker, you never left her house hungry.

Mary will be remembered as a people person who always had a smile on her face and a listening ear. Her friendly and approachable nature drew people to her, and she was always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. Mary's genuine kindness had a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Mary leaves behind her sons Lenny (Jeanie), Edward, Jack (Lucy), James, as well as her grandchildren Christopher, Elizabeth, Benjamin (Jenny), Mason, Roman, Theresa, Stephanie, Joey, Jenny, Jill (step-granddaughter), Benn (step-grandson), and great-grandchildren Arik, Kyleen, Julianne, and Theo, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband John, Mary was preceded in death by siblings: Frank Sypnieski, John Sypnieski, Anne Daunis, Lottie Joswick, and Irene Sawczuk.

A visitation will be held on December 7, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, WI. Following the visitation, a Mass will be held at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.   The Rev. Joseph Albert will officiate.
