Marlene Joyce Sawczuk

Marlene Sawczuk, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2026, at Belltower Residence in Merrill WI.

She was born July 30th, 1941, in Wausau WI. Her parents were the late Henry and Alma Baravetto. Marlene married Roy Sawczuk on April 9th, 1976.

In her younger years, Marlene worked at Rondele’s cheese in Mosinee WI. Later she babysat several children for 20+ years. Marlene and her daughter Lisa started their own cleaning business that Marlene occupied until retirement.

Marlene loved her family so much. She loved family get-togethers where she could see and be with all her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed going for walks with the neighbor ladies and going to the casino. Marlene loved country music. She was known for singing to her family and friends, “I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. A barrel and a heap and I talk in my sleep about you!” “About you!”

Marlene was proceeded in death by her husband Roy and her sister Jean (Ray) Romatowski. She is survived by 4 children, Terry (Mary Ann) Wasniewski, Rick (Chris) Wasniewski, Lisa Terry Woller, Tracey (Colette) Sawczuk, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Father Eric Mashak will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m., until the time of the service, all at the church.
