Karen Ann Macha

December 20, 1948 — January 2, 2023

Karen A. Macha, 74, passed on 1/2/2023 surrounded by her loved ones, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Karen was a hard-working farm girl. She grew up on her family’s farm, helping her father Floyd, baling hay, milking cows, and cleaning stalls. Her mother Romana was a homemaker, who cooked, cleaned, and fed her family with meals made with love.

If you were lucky enough to know Karen, then you knew she loved her family unwaveringly. She often said her family was her greatest accomplishment.

Her second pride and joy was her kitty Imala, her companion and buddy. Karen loved her so.

When she had her health, she spent as much time as possible making memories with her children and grandchildren. Great memories included camping and fishing with her oldest grandson, setting up lemonade stands with all of them, tea parties, and sleep overs. She loved music, nature, trees, and summer nights. Fireflies and singing frogs were music to her ears.

She left us all with beautiful and meaningful memories. She was quick with her wit and smiles came easy to her. To know her was to know hearty laughter and love.

Karen is survived by her children, Troy Greeley, Colorado Springs, Todd (Jamie) Greeley, Fox Crossing, Angela (Erik) Schroeder, Wausau, and Monica (Chris) Smith, Mosinee; grandchildren, Ethan, Kobe, Kiran, Satori, Phoenix, Savannah and Madison; and a great-granddaughter Elleri.

A Celebration of Life will take place this Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Knowlton Town Hall, 205220 Old Hwy 51, Mosinee, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Please wear white, teal/turquoise, or tie-dye (Karen’s favorite colors).

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Karen’s name can be directed to alivingtribute.org to plant a tree in her memory or nlpac.com to support a local no kill animal shelter.
