Kay Dee Johnson 86, of Watertown, passed away on September 6, 2024, at The Marquardt in Watertown WI, surrounded by her family.
Kay was born May 6, 1938, in Mosinee, WI, daughter of the late Dwight and Viola (Murr) Johnson.
Kay’s calling in life began watching her grandmother play in church. After graduation from Mosinee HS in 1956, she went on to earn her teaching degree in music from UW-Eau Claire graduating in 1960. Later she earned her Masters from UW-Stevens Point. Kay never married and devoted herself to music. She started her career in Plymouth and then settled in Green Bay where she taught all her life. She enjoyed spending her time with her parents, watching the Packers and Badgers, golfing, stitching and playing piano for solo ensemble, which she continued into retirement. Kay moved to Watertown in 2019 to be near family.
Kay is survived by her brother Lee (Carol) Johnson, Nephews’ Ron (Sue) Johnson, Randy Johnson, grand-nephew Grant (Ashley) Johnson, grand-nieces; Beth (Drew) Brunning, Emma Johnson, Isabelle Johnson, great grand-niece Hilde Brunning and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Chaplain Mark Lewis will officiate. Burial will be at Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home.
