Kay Lucy Haataja Passed away on Friday 26th of December 2025 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI.

Kay was born on April 23rd, 1969, to Brynolf and Phyllis Haataja in Wausau, WI. She was the eighth born out of eleven children: Karen, Linda Sue, Karla, Katie, John, James, Jody, Kay, Kristine, Kimberly, Jeffrey.

After graduating from Mosinee High school. Kay had married and divorced Roland Tiry. Together they had one daughter Mandy and one son Josh.

Kay is survived by her two children Mandy Lee Wallace, (Benjamin Leland Wallace), Josh Lawrence Tiry. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ruby Lee Wallace and June Aryanna Wallace.

Kay Had many interests and talents in her lifetime. She loved the outdoors, catching a fish, hunting down small and large game, if she could smell the fresh air; she was where she wanted to be. Kay also loved doing puzzles, gluing them together, hanging them on the wall and all of them where of animals with an outdoor scene. Kay had a real talent for stitch work, sewing, knitting, Crocheting, she could do it all.

Kay was spiritual in her own way. Although not going to a specific church she avidly read the bible often marking passages and writing on the side of the pages she liked. Passing this respect on to her son Josh; he has generously donated her extra fabrics, and crafting materials to a local church.

Kay is now reunited in death with her father Brynolf Haataja; Mother Phyllis Haataja; sister Linda Sue Haataja; brother Jody Haataja and sister Kathleen Goessl.

There will be a memorial gathering at Mission Lake Park; 211017 County Park Rd, Hatley, WI on May 2nd, 2026, starting at 11am for friends and family.
