John Roger Gorman, age 89, of Marshfield entered the arms of the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2026, just short of his 90th birthday. He joins his beloved wife, Nancy A. Gorman, who passed away on April 10, 2023.

John was born on July 28, 1936, the son of Roman and Rosalie (Dahlke) Gorman of Halder, WI. He was the fifth of six children. John attended St. Robert’s Catholic School in Halder and graduated from Mosinee High School in 1954. After graduation he served in the Army and was able to travel throughout Europe when he was stationed in Germany. Then upon returning to the Gorman homestead, he met and married the love of his life, Nancy A. Lepak, on August 29, 1959. They purchased the farm homestead a year later and raised their three children there near Halder, WI. The first five years they did dairy farming and thereafter, they did hobby farming, grew cash crops and ginseng for many years. John worked for 33 years at Foremost Foods in Rothschild and was a proud Teamster Union member. In May of 2020, they moved to Marshfield.

John was an accomplished gardener and loved yard work especially mowing lawns. He took great pride in helping Nancy with their perennial flower gardens and keeping the property in good shape for all to enjoy. They also enjoyed playing cards together with friends and family. John was an active outdoorsman as he fished in Canada for many years and was an avid deer hunter with both rifle and bow. John enjoyed sports and was a huge fan of anything Wisconsin: Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and Bucks. He played high school baseball and played on the Halder ball team for many years. For 40 years he enjoyed golfing with the same partner and longtime friend, Jerry Heindl. John was an active member of St. Patrick’s Parish in Halder mowing the parish grounds and cemetery for over 20 years. He also served as the sexton of the cemetery upon his retirement. John was a lector at masses and often assisted priests by serving mass and drove them to visit the sick at area homes, hospitals and assisted living facilities.

John is survived by three children: Karmen (John Baur) Gorman, Marshfield; Mary Becher, Janesville; and John Jay (Jackie) Gorman, Halder. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amber (Joe), Lindsay (Geno), Grant (Sheila), Emma (Grant), Chloe (Matt), Jacob (Nicole), Claire (Andrew), Camille (Tyler) and Ben; seven great-grandsons: Devon, Sam, George, Max, Leo, Theodore and Benson; one great granddaughter: Birdie; four step grandchildren: Paige, Lydia, Gavin and Koda. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Fran Gorman.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy A. Gorman; his parents, Roman and Rosalie Gorman; two brothers, Duane Gorman and William (Bill) Gorman; three sisters, Doris Kennedy, Virjean Dallman, Ann Fischer, and a son-in-law, Ron Becher.
