Jerome “Jerry” S. Sharkey, 76, Phillips, passed away on June 13, 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, uncle, and friend Jerry Sharkey.
Jerry was born to Sylvester and Irene (Marco) Sharkey in the small town of Mosinee, Wisconsin. He grew up in Mosinee, attending Mosinee Schools, where he graduated. After graduation, Jerry entered the Military and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1969 to May 1975, including 2 ½ years overseas in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a carpenter.
In retirement, Jerry stayed busy and was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed nature, a good fire in the fire pit with great conversations and storytelling. Fishing and boating his summers away in Wisconsin and traveling to spend his winters in Florida and Arizona.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy, Eugene, Jim, and Adrian Sharkey, and sisters, Mary Ann Seidler and Vonnie Albert. He is survived by his brother Pat (Joan) Sharkey, sister, Debra (David) Beske, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
