Janice Lanore Krieg

Janice L. (Hinckley) Krieg, 94, of Mosinee, got her wings on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1929, in Mosinee, the daughter of the late Clarence and Marie (Kronenwetter) Hinckley.  She married John Krieg on Oct. 2, 1948, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee.

Survivors include her five children, Patricia “Posey” (Robert Davis) Hirsch, Mission, TX, Joseph (Deb) Krieg, Superior, Marie Janz, Mosinee, Richard (Julie Ollmann) Krieg, Green Bay, and John (Michele) Krieg, Mosinee.  Nine grandchildren; Gregory Hirsch and Keri Poremba; Tanya Krieg, Trishya Brown and Jake Krieg; Rebecca and Margaret Janz; and Jonathan and Nathan Krieg; seven great-grandchildren, Meridith, Matthew and Christina, Noah, Baiya, Ari and Hudson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John, a brother, Charles Hinckley, a sister, Patricia Hinckley, and a great-granddaughter, Sydni Brown.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee.  The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church.  Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janice’s name may be directed to the Marathon County Humane Society.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Janice’s card playing friends.  Their friendship brought humor and joy to her life.  She raved about the desserts and companionship.
