Janet Motz passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at the age of 86.
She was born in Faribault, MN. on August 5th, 1939, oldest daughter of the late Hugh and Vera Kenney. Over the years she built a life centered on faith, family and friends.
Jan was known for beautiful blue eyes and smile. She found joy in sewing, cooking and baking. She expressed her love through delicious home-cooked meals and baked goods. Family gatherings were especially dear to her. Her life was full of blessings, most notably her marriage of 66 years with her husband David.
Janet is survived by her children; Charles (Julie) Motz, Robert (Annette) Motz, Kathryn (Dave) Clark, Mary Ledebuhr.
Her grandchildren, Melissa Motz, Andrew Motz. Kyle (Ashley) Motz, Heather (Edvard Joseph) Motz, Cory Motz, Phillip Becker, Justin Becker, David Becker, Jacob Ledebuhr and Ryan Ledebuhr. Great grandchildren, Lincoln Caldero, Grayson Motz, Teddy Motz, Berkley Motz, Hadley Motz and Emmett Joseph. Also survived by her sister Kathleen Huffman and brother-in-law Arlyn Proksch. Besides her parents Janet was preceded in death by her brother James (Dorry) Kenney, sister Mary Kay Proksch and brother n law Dennis Huffman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 29, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. Father James Trempe will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:45, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
