Janet Elizabeth Miller

March 18, 1954 — July 7, 2023

Mosinee

Janet E. Miller, age 69, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2023, at Cedar Creek Manor in Rothschild.  Janet was born on March 18, 1954, to the late Thomas and Joanne (Pritchard) Evans.

She loved baseball, 4-H and playing piano as a child.  When she was a senior in high school, she won the national piano competition at the IFCA convention in California.  The song she played was “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”.  She continued to play that song throughout her life.

Janet graduated from Waukesha High School in 1972.  She married Robert Miller on March 28, 1973.  They most recently celebrated 50 years of marriage together.

She cherished being a wife, mother, and Grandma Bobbers to her 7 grandchildren.  She often checked in to see what her kids and grandkids were up to and always made sure to celebrate their birthdays and anniversaries. She was the ultimate example of the love of Jesus to others.  She loved her family so well and was peaceful and content in every circumstance.  She fully trusted Jesus for her salvation and for her every need.  She was a prayer warrior and woke up early each morning to pray for her family and friends.  She was witty, warm, kind and will be dearly missed.  She had a smile that would light up a room!

Over the years she taught piano lessons to many students in Mosinee.  She was a waitress at Marc’s Big Boy in Wausau, was the bookkeeper for R.W. Miller & Sons Trucking, drove school bus for the Mosinee School District, and was an Administrative Assistant at Aeroquip and Cequent.

Janet loved reading, yardwork, attending her grandchildren’s sporting and music events, and snowshoeing.  She visited all 50 states, mostly in the semi with Bob.  She attended many Gymanfa Ganu hymn singing festivals over the years and was proud of her Welsh heritage.  Janet was an amazing piano player and played the piano at Wausau Bible Church for the last 25 years.  She loved being Grandma Bobbers and held Bobbers Camp each summer for many years to create memories and instill her faith in her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Miller, her 3 children, Clint (Heidi) Miller of Mosinee, Nathan (Stacy) Miller of Sheboygan, and Michelle Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She is also survived by her seven wonderful grandchildren:  Kinsey Miller of Minneapolis, Thomas and Garrison Miller of Mosinee, and Carson, Madison, Kiersyn, and Hudson Miller of Sheboygan.  She is further survived by her siblings: David Evans, Paul (Debbie) Evans, and Kathy (Ed) Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joanne Evans, and her in-laws, John and Lorna Miller.

Her family recently found an index card where Janet had written her ‘Personal Mission Statement’:  1 Peter 4:9 “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
