James “Jim” W. Fochs, 91, Mosinee, died on May 13, 2024, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 15, 1933, in Kronenwetter, WI, son of the late Norman and Pauline (Schaaf) Fochs. He married Norma Wincentsen, on Oct. 12, 1957, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Schofield; she survives.
Jim was a veteran of the US Air Force. After his service, he worked for Mosinee Paper Mill. Upon retirement, he and Norma moved to Arkansas for seven years, then Minocqua, and finally returned to Mosinee. Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and watching sports. His family was very important to him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Norma; their children, Michele (Richard) Bacha, OH; Kim (Wyatt) Witz, Ringle; Terri (Joel) VanGuilder, Spooner; Tami (Chris) Stevens, Trego; Leslie Fochs, Wausau; and J. Scott Fochs, FL; grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Kirk, Tony, Dustin, Todd, Phillip, Annee, Katie, Calandra, April, and Jonathan; 10 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters Eleanor Shea and Mary Ellen Staszak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
