Jacqueline "Jackie" Krieg

Jacqueline (Jackie) Krieg, passed away at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau on Thursday, July 13, 2023, after a years long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer.

Jackie lived her entire life in Mosinee, WI and attended Mosinee schools.  She leaves behind her husband, James, and her sons, Jeffrey (Fond du Lac, WI) and Scott (Lisa) (Green Bay, WI).  She is also survived by a sister, Charlene (Wausau) and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. 

Jackie was born at home to the late Steve & Isabelle (Akey) Kaskavitch, the youngest child of 12.  She married James Krieg at St. Paul’s Catholic Church and was married for over 60 years.  She spent her years as a homemaker who took great satisfaction in her clean house, baked goods and immaculate lawn.  She did much volunteering for years at St. Paul’s School and with Mosinee Youth Hockey teams and worked in ginseng gardens. Jackie also loved shopping, sending cards and notes to people, visiting with others, baking and crafts. 

The family would like to acknowledge all who sent food or cards, made calls, visited or offered prayers when Jackie was at home, especially Larry, Theresa, Mary, Fr. Aaron Becker, Dale and Judy, Judy and Craig, Don and Ruth, Bob and Bunny, Valie, Barb, Paul and family, Bill and Mayme and the friars and staff at St. Lawrence Seminary.  Special acknowledgment and deep gratitude to Jackie’s beloved hospice nurse Jason and all the hospice nurses who came to the house during Jackie’s illness. Special gratitude for the outstanding care and compassion Jackie received at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee.  The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate.  Burial will take place in St. Paul Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church.  Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
