During her school years Bernice enjoyed membership in and holding office in various clubs such as the Rural Life Club, Glee Club, 4-H Club, Drama Club and the Loyola Club in Stevens Point University. She served as secretary and treasurer of the Rothschild Home and Community Education Club and was a member of the Wausau Senior Citizens Club. She was a founding member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Rothschild, active in the St. Mark’s Ladies Council and Mother Cabrini Circle, and member of the area Christian Women’s Club.

Over the years Bernice enjoyed travel to 26 states, Washington D.C., Hawaii and Canada, as well as family gatherings, festivals, theater, plays, reading and sewing. She always welcomed cards and visits from friends, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.

She is survived by two children, Dennis Jablonski, Stratford, and Cheryl (Lawrence) Krainz, Marshfield; four grandchildren, Dawn Hanke, Janel (Ray) Cheyka, Joanna (Todd) Cheyka and Lisa Fliehr; 16 great-grandchildren who affectionately call her Greatest Grandma; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law.
