Joyce Carol Harvanek (Spacek)

Joyce C. Harvanek, 73, Mosinee, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the Town of Guenther.
She was born Feb. 12, 1949, the daughter of the late August and Eleanor (Bohochik) Spacek. She married Vladimir Harvanek on April 14, 1978, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2020.
Joyce was a lively and vibrant person. She found joy in most everything she did from cooking and dabbling in the garden to shopping and going to the casino. She had a vivacious personality and was always the first to laugh which made the people around her laugh too.
Joyce was immensely proud of her family; from her husband and her 7 siblings to her children and grandchildren. She especially treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them.
Joyce worked various jobs throughout her life from a flame cutter to a baker. Most often she worked in food service and took pride in bringing the best to the customers of Piggly Wiggly, Kwik Trip, the Cheese Store and others.
Survivors, include a son, George N. Harvanek, Mosinee; a daughter, Dawn (Michael) Robinette Hurst, Nevada City, CA, three grandchildren, Eleanor “Elly” Hurst, George Henry Harvanek and Jarrid Hurst; and many siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Roger Robinette who passed away on July 20, 1993.
A private memorial will be held for Joyce on August 27 in Mosinee as well as a service in Oak Creek, WI in the summer of 2023. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com
