Gary Alan Hammond

Gary A. Hammond, 68, Mosinee, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born Jan. 28, 1954, the son of Howard and Lula (Travers) Hammond. He married Donna Gardner on April 30, 1988, in Neva, WI. She survives.

Gary was a White Lake High School graduate, who then went on to earn his Electronics Associates Degree in 1983, from NTC Wausau. Gary worked at Stern Electronics in Antigo, and after that he worked at SNE Enterprises until his retirement. When not at work, he could be found out on the water wetting lines with family and friends. Gary’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family, and the thing that brought him the most joy and pride was being a full time Grandpa.

Survivors, besides his wife, Donna, include his mother Lula; his children, Pamela Hammond, Milwaukee, WI, Stephanie Hammond, Mosinee, WI, and Charles (Jacklyn) Hammond, Stettin, WI; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lloyd Hammond, Moorehead, KY, Bob (Shirley) Hammond, Madison, WI, Roger (Janice) Hammond, Aniwa, WI, and David Hammond, Antigo, WI; five sisters, Barbara (Max) Hilb, Eldersburg, MD, Shirley Smith, Cross-junction, VA, Bonnie Kaske, Green Bay, WI, Cindy (Randy) Zydzik, Thorp, WI, and Peggy (Terry) Fagan, Mosinee, WI. He was preceded in death by his father Howard; sister, Brenda; four nephews, Christian, Bobby, TJ and Billy.

Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Phyllis Smoot will officiate.
