Felix Joseph Grochmal

Felix Joseph Grochmal, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
Felix was born on May 23, 1927, in Mosinee. He was the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Cwiklik) Grochmal. He married Winifred Kurzynski on August 6, 1949 in Stevens Point. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2015.
He was a hard worker, employed at Mosinee Paper Mill for twenty years. He also enjoyed farming his entire life with his wife, Winnie.
He enjoyed dancing, listening to polka music, mushroom and berry picking, gardening, and cutting wood. He also loved to fish, hunt, play smear, visit with friends and family, and watch sports on television, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. It brought Felix great joy to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching their sporting events, visiting, and playing songs for them on his harmonica. He was a kind and caring man. He will hold a special place in our hearts.
Survivors include a son, Fred (Nancy) Grochmal, Mosinee; three daughters, Shirley (Joe) Drapcho, Waconia MN, Beverley (Myron) Wisz, Mosinee, and Colleen (Jerry) Meis, Custer; ten grandchildren, Kristen (Randy) VerHaagh, Katie (Paul) Verstegen, Joe (Sarah) Grochmal, Jessica Drapcho, Andrea (Joe) Mitchell, Joseph (Ann) Drapcho, Nicole (Eric) Lokken, Darrell (Lanore) Wisz, Rebecca Meis, and Lindsey Meis; fourteen great grandchildren, Trynn, Zoe, Kent, Hazel, Lydia, Charlie, Ellis, Wilson, Jay, Macie, Brady, Aubrey, Porter, and Carissa. Also survived by two sisters, Betty (Florian) Romatowski, and Leona Kittell, as well as in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Audrey and Annette, one brother – Stanley, and four sisters, Sophie Lesniak, Lottie Bielen, Stephanie Opyd, and Helen Gorski.
