Duane Gorman

Duane P. Gorman, 90, Mosinee, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield.
He was born on March 17, 1927, in Halder, the son of the late Roman and Rosalie (Dahlke) Gorman. He graduated from the ninth grade at St. Robert’s School in Halder. He served in the Army from 1946-1948. He married Virginia Zyduck at St Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 1990.
Duane, Virginia and family lived on a farm in the town of Emmet. He dairy farmed, raised pigs, beef cattle and cash crops. His last big project on the farm was growing ginseng. He worked 20 plus years at Foremost Farms. Duane enjoyed hunting and fishing, with or without a license. He was involved in various church activities at both St. Patrick’s Parish in Halder and at St. Paul’s Parish in Mosinee. He was a proud member of the NFO and Knights of Columbus.
Duane kept himself busy helping his community and his neighbors, especially those in need. For many years he faithfully visited residents at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
He loved his six grandchildren. He was so very proud of them. He included all of them in his many adventures and missions of love.
Survivors include Duane’s three children, Michael (Diane) Gorman, Mosinee, Ann (Charles) Ehster, Edgar, and Andrew Gorman, Spencer; six grandchildren, Dillon, Devon and Dalton Gorman, and Charles, Nate and Joshua Ehster; one brother, John (Nancy) Gorman, Edgar; and three sisters, Doris Kennedy, Mosinee, Virjean Dallman, Minocqua, and Ann Fischer, Shiocton. Besides his wife Virginia, Duane was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Gorman and a brother, William Gorman.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder.
