Gorlou "Hi-D" Giese

Gorlou “Hi-D” A. Giese, 86, Mosinee, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home.

Hi-D was born on March 5, 1940, son of the late Edgar and Mary (Geary) Giese.  He married his high school sweetheart, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Krzanowski, on November 4, 1961, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee, she survives.

Hi-D enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting (with 4 generations). He attended many hockey, Tball & baseball events with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his wife Gwen, Hi-D is survived by his sons, Jeff (Roberta) Giese, Cottage Grove, MN, and Jody (Michelle) Giese, Mosinee; six grandchildren; Jerik (Renee) Giese, Jianca (Kyle) McHugh, Jevret (Sammie) Giese, Janessa (Josh) Carey, Mitch (Kellie) Giese, Olivia (Mike) Proulx. 12 great-grandchildren; Lanndon, Brooklyn, Oaklynn, Gentry, Gresham, Reno, Ridge, Trinity, Pierce, Valen, Josette, Bennett.

Hi-D was preceded in death by a brother, Lee (Jayne) Giese, a sister, Delight (Donald) Reinschmidt, Ruann (Donald) Gelb, and great-granddaughter Aurora Giese.

We will always hold the memory of and continue to use “The Giese Window Wave” from the front window of our homes as our loved ones leave, always looking forward to the time we are together again.

The family would like to thank Amber for all the help she gave both to the family as well as Hi-D in his final days at home.
