Gilbert "Bob" R. Petrowski

Gilbert “Bob” R. Petrowski, 85, Kronenwetter, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by his family at Rennes Rehab and Living Center, Weston.

His family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the staff at Rennes Center and Heartland Hospice for their support over the last 4 years.

Bob was born on Nov. 5, 1940, son of the late Frank and Alice (Joswick) Petrowski and brother of late Dick Petrowski. He married Susan L. Mathie on Nov. 12, 1966.

Bob embraced life with a passion for many activities, including fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and gardening. Always humble, he never boasted about his remarkable achievements—whether it was consistently catching his walleye limit, earning countless target shooting trophies, scoring a hole-in-one on the golf course, or bowling several perfect games. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. In his later years, Bob found joy in tending to his impressive flower beds, rising early, savoring his coffee, and admiring the beauty he cultivated.

Bob is survived by his wife, Susan, his children Steven (Alison Simón) Petrowski and Sarah (John) Jackan, grandchildren Mazie (Andrew Disanto) Jackan, Jacob Jackan, and his nieces and nephews that loved their “Uncle Bob”.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name can be directed to the family, where a memorial will be established at a later date.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Rothschild. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church.
