Gary William Nechuta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary W. Nechuta, a devoted husband, son, father, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on July 31, 2025, at the age of 59.

Gary was born on June 14, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, son of William and the late Nancy Nechuta. He married Gayle S. Boneske, on May 13, 1989, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Athens.

Gary will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Gayle, father, William, daughters, Brittney and Meagan Nechuta, and sister, Lesa Nechuta.

He will be further missed by father and mother-in-law, Roy and Pat Boneske; sisters-in-laws, Jean (Jerry) Fitzgerald, Julie (Jerry) Chaplinski, Joan (Randy) Baptist, Ann (Rob) Gust, Carrie (Rick) Miller; brothers-in-laws, Randy (Kathy) Boneske, Tom (Lynne) Boneske, Richard (Kathy) Boneske, Tim (Laurie) Boneske, Keith (Tina) Boneske; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Nechuta, niece Shauna Hackbarth, cousin Matthew Cisler, and nephews Luke and Zack Boneske.

He graduated from Mosinee High School in 1984. He went on to work at the Mosinee Paper Mill, where he dedicated almost 40 years of service. He was known around Mosinee to many as Owl, Hooter and Hootie, you would rarely hear someone call him Gary. Gary had many hobbies including, motorcycling, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, feeding the birds and deer. You could always see Gary walking around town and stopping to chat along the way. Gary also enjoyed family vacations, camping, playing cards, watching Nascar races and Wisconsin sports.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Father Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church.
