Dorothy T. Belohlavek, 80, Knowlton, died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 12, 1943, in Knowlton, the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Dawiedczyk) Cincera. She married Carl Belohlavek on August 1, 1964, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, he survives.
Dorothy was a truly remarkable woman who inspired others with her strength. She worked 40 years as a beautician at the Marathon County HealthCare Center. She enjoyed working with the residents to make them feel beautiful and loved. Her giggle was contagious and brought joy to others. She loved to spend time in her gardens, tending to the flowers, watching wildlife of any kind and marveled at all of God’s creation. She was known to have a friendly competition to see who could spot the first migratory birds of the season. In the winter months she enjoyed painting, reading in the sunroom, crafting and everything had to have “character”. For 20+ years she decorated both inside and outside of the church and made bouquets for the altar from her flower garden. She served as the President of the Cabrini society, was involved with the plant and cookie sales, supported the Habitat for Humanity, the Humane society, Feed My Starving children, and Heifer International.
Survivors, besides her husband Carl; include her children, Anthony (Lynn) Belohlavek, Chippewa Falls, Michelle (Gary) Shulfer, Stevens Point, and Wendy Shaver, Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, Amber and Rachel, Theresa and Timothy, and Nicholas; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Arizona. She is further survived by her siblings, Richard (Monica) Cincera, Josephine (Jerry) Lassa, Eugene Cincera, and Marie Cincera, all of Mosinee.
