Donald C. Wiesman

Donald C. Wiesman, 84, of Mosinee, died Monday, June 9, 2025, at Our House Senior Living, Whitewater, WI.

Donald was born to the late Paul and Margaret (Masanz) Wiesman on Dec. 18, 1940, in Edgar, WI. As a young man, he tried farming but soon after discovered he had “hay fever.” He then went to work for Marathon Cheese and started taking night classes for welding. Once he accomplished his welding trade, he spent his time working at a number of local manufacturing facilities including Schuld Manufacturing, Drott/ J.I. Case, Imperial Industries, and Central Fabrication/Woods Manufacturing before retiring in 2009.

Don found his soulmate in Shirley Strasser, and the couple tied the knot on June 4, 1966. Their union was blessed with four children: Randy, Todd, Amanda, and Brent. Shirley preceded him in death in Oct. 2011.

He was known for his great sense of humor and loved spending his time hunting, fishing, watching Brewers baseball games, and cherishing moments with his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his four children: Randy (Kimberly) Wiesman, Waupun, Todd Wiesman, Mosinee, Amanda (John) Duell, Cambridge, and Brent Wiesman, Schofield; 10 grandchildren: Octavia, Blake, Lydia, Cody, Colton, Kali, Canyon, Matthew, Ashlee and Christopher; five great grandchildren; Marley, Mayvis, Gannon, Amelia and Tucker; and three sisters: Joyce Stencil, Wausau, Joan (Donne) Roehling, Reedsburg, and Marilyn (Jeff) Lau, Stratford. He is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene, and a sister, Margaret.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service, Tuesday, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.
