Diane Shulfer, age 58, of Mosinee, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, surrounded by family after a courageous 2½-year battle with breast cancer.
Diane was born in Stevens Point, WI on August 28, 1966, daughter to the late Dorothy (Lewandowski) and Stanley Napiwocki. Growing up, she attended the local schools, graduating from SPASH in 1984. After high school she met her husband, Duane, in 1989 and on June 8, 1991, they were married at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, WI.
A beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Diane a.k.a “Peter” brought warmth and light to every life she touched. Her strength, grace, and humor remained steady even during the hardest days of her illness, inspiring everyone around her. During her life, she devoted her time raising her children and volunteered working for the Town of Dewey elections.
Diane found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, calling, and hanging out with her sisters. Whether gathered around the table or simply enjoying everyday moments, she cherished togetherness above all else. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making sure to keep her mother’s recipes alive. One of her favorite pastimes was unwinding with her favorite soap opera, The Bold & the Beautiful, a ritual that became a comforting part of her daily routine as well as watching many different shows on HGTV, The Travel Channel and Food network.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Shulfer; children, Katie Shulfer, Scott Shulfer, and Ashley (Nikolas) Trzcinski; her first grandson, due to arrive in September 2025; siblings, Carol Grezenski, Don (Bernice) Napiwocki, Gary (Bev) Napiwocki, Ron (Vicky) Napiwocki, Sharon (Dave) Rucinski, Ervin Napiwocki, Ken Napiwocki, and Rich Napiwocki; sisters in law, Judy Shulfer, Kathy Shulfer, Nancy Shulfer, and Sue (Pete) Zoromski; brothers in law, Marvin (Yvette) Shulfer, James (Delsie) Shulfer, Jerome (Joan) Shulfer, Kenneth (Deb) Shulfer, Randy (Lisa) Shulfer, Rick (Candice) Shulfer and Kevin (Kim) Shulfer; as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
