Dennis Anthony Narlock

Dennis A. Narlock, 79, Mosinee, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis was born on February 24, 1947, in Wausau, WI, one of nine children of the late Lambert and Margaret (Skarwecki) Narlock. After attending St. Therese school and graduating from D.C. Everest High in 1965, he married Janis Rowell, she survives.

Dennis loved his family unconditionally. He was a very proud man and would downplay his accomplishments. Not many people knew, but Dennis would’ve been 20 years sober this year. Dennis should’ve owned stock in Pepsi with as much as he drank. Dennis’ his favorite color was “flannel” and he was an expert at cutting trees, dragging them out of the woods with the multitude of tractors he owned and planting gardens well over an acre. He thoroughly enjoyed weekly trips to the casino with his Janis, a long phone and a good laugh with Cheryl and shooting the bull with Joe over coffee, watching Kelly Clarkson. Another time that stood out to Dennis was with his son Tim, when he harvested his biggest deer, the smile on his face said it all.

Dennis worked in the paper industry as a machine tender for 43 years retiring from Weyerhaeuser/Domtar. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, servicing planes. Dennis was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Mosinee.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Janis, his children Cheryl (Travis) Newman, Joe (Jolin Stewart) Narlock, Tim (Jill) Narlock, grandchildren Tyler, Emily, Adam (Brooke), Alyssa (Alan), Breanna, Sadie, Leo and Nola, 5 great-grandchildren and one step-grandson Calvin. Dennis is further survived by his siblings Mike (Judy Neuman) Narlock, Cathy (Pete) Peil, Marilyn (Bob) Stogbauer, Mary Lou (Dan) Krautkramer, sisters-in-law Mary Kratwell-Narlock, Nancy Narlock and Gail Narlock, brothers-in-law Philip Rowell and Daniel (Jerry) Rowell, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by brothers Terry, Ronald, Gary and John, sisters-in-law Mary Narlock, Sharon Rowell and Karen Rowell and brother-in-law David Rowell, nephew Douglas Narlock.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Monsignor Joseph Diermeier will officiate. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home.
