Dean K. Jensen, 91, Kronenwetter, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1934, in Yankton, South Dakota. Son of the late Harold and Theda (Marvin) Jensen. He married the love of his life, Sharon Kamke on May 21, 1960, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Schofield, she survives.
Dean served in the United States Navy, from 1953 until being honorably discharged in 1957. Dean went on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in May of 2013. He moved from South Dakota to Wisconsin in 1959. He then got a job at the Mosinee Paper Mill, working there until his retirement in 1995.
Everyone that knew Dean knew how much he loved gardening, picking berries, and pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Playing cards every Monday and coffee every Thursday with his retired friends. Every fall they would make sauerkraut. Dean loved his garden and when they moved to an apartment, he had a small, raised garden. On Sunday, May 4, he planted onions and radishes for the final time. Dean enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Packers and Brewers. He loved “supervising” everyone’s projects, even if it was the neighbor’s project.
We couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather or friend, and will miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Dean is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Lori (James) Ollmann, New Berlin, WI, Lisa (Gary) Zurakowski, Kronenwetter, Brenda (Doug) Pockat, Green Bay, WI, and Rhonda (Kurt) Piotrowski, Mosinee; grandchildren, Andrew Ollmann, Matthew (Molly) Ollmann, Dani and Austin Zurakowski, Nathan (Kristi) Olson, Tyler Olson, Brandon and Kyle Piotrowski; great-grandchildren, Sophia Olson, Landon Patterson, Bennett and Madelyn Ollmann, Gracelynn Olson, and Raylynn Olson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and close friends. Besides his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin, Don, and Laverne Jensen, Marlene Parker; and honorary brother, Tag Wheeler.
