Cherie' Mae Elisea

August 17, 1960 — April 17, 2024

Rochester

Cherie’ M. Elisea, 63, Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, WI with her family by her side.

She was born August 17, 1960, in Wausau, WI, daughter of Charlotte (Boneck) and the late Harold Alexander.

After graduating high school Cherie’ ventured off to the Twin Cities where she attended school at North Central Bible college which ignited her passion for learning and her love for big cities. Later in life she went to the University Wisconsin Stevens Point, she was always seeking ways to further expand her knowledge which was evident in her 500 day Duo Lingo streak where she was teaching herself Spanish. While attending UWSP she had the opportunity to explore not only cities in the United States but also all through Europe. She got to pursue her love for fashion while she was on these trips and throughout her life by the eccentric colors she chose for her nails and hair. During her life she wore many different hats which were influenced largely by those close to her. In her early years she took after her mother in the caregiving role and later in life she followed in her father’s footsteps, going into sales. Anyone close to her would note her passion for writing, helping others, loving her two boys and her grandson. In her downtime she loved gardening, swimming, and taking her two dogs Oliver and Venti on walks through Iverson Park. Throughout her life she often reflected on her time spent in the Twin Cities and the many friendships that she carried through her life. Her love for God, family, and friends never wavered. Holding near and dear to her heart her favorite bible verse; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

In true Cherie’ fashion she would always smile and say, “Have a groovy day!”

Survivors include, her mother, Charlotte Alexander, Weston; sons, Elliott Shannon, and Elias Shannon, both of Weston; grandson, Ezekiel Shannon; brothers, Paul (Lisa) Alexander, Hatley, Marc (Jackie) Alexander, Three Lakes; sister, Anne (Steve) Prelipp, Rochester, MN; her special dog, Oliver; as well as her nieces and nephews, Tessa, Becca, Dalton, Mackenzie, Khale, Sierra, Hannah, Cali, Cecelia and Shani.
