Ann Jane Brod (Obernberger)

Ann J. Brod, 92, Mosinee, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Acorn Hills Senior Living Center, Mosinee.

Ann was born May 13, 1930, to the late John and Lucy (Maguire) Obernberger. She married Delmer Brod on Feb. 11, 1950, at St. Patrick Church in Halder. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2009.

Ann attended grade school at St. Josephs in Stratford. In 1940, they moved to Halder where she attended school at St. Roberts. She graduated from Mosinee High School in 1948. Ann worked at Wright’s Music Store in Wausau until her marriage. She worked in the Mosinee High School’s office from 1961 to 1982. She was also secretary and treasurer of Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters and a member of St. Monica’s Society.

Ann enjoyed crafting, quilting, attending family sporting events, and going out to eat with her friends. She had a good sense of humor and many comical stories to tell. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her summers at their cottage in Minocqua, making many new friends. She loved the Northwood’s peacefulness and watching the wildlife. She even named the deer that hung out at the cottage.

Ann is survived by her four children: Allen (Dorothy) Brod, Susan (Gary) Kuklinski, David (Lia Klumpyn) Brod, and John (Josie) Brod, all of Mosinee; her grandchildren: Mike (Laurie Kuckkhan) Brod, Joni (Josh) Wiese, Andy Adams, Keith (Courtney) Kuklinski, Kurt (Heather) Kuklinski, Kevin (Michelle) Kuklinski, Lisa (Jovan) Dewitt, Scott (Paula) Brod, Keith (Karen Hocking) Koszarek, and Traci (Josh) Simonis; 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Verona Steinke and John (Shirley) Obernberger; sister in-law, June Brod; and brother in-law, Kenneth Brod. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer, granddaughter, Rebecca Adams, and sister, Margaret Baur.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services, Tuesday, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.
