Betty E. Hagenbucher

Betty E. Hagenbucher, 80, Mosinee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her home, while surrounded by her family.

 

Betty was born September 6, 1942, to the late Wilbur and Margaret (Berndt-Glenetski) Epright. She married Gerald Hagenbucher on April 4, 1959, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2023.

 

Betty was an amazing Godly woman. She was a devout Catechist. For a large part of her life, she volunteered being on St Monica’s council, and taught the little ones of God’s way. She received the women of light award in 2009.  She was office Manager for Hertz Car rental in Mosinee for 40 years. While simultaneous co-owning Hertz Car rental in Rhinelander with her husband Jerry. She volunteered at the Mosinee and Athens Elementary school. She was loved by many that affectionately called her “Grandma Betty.”  She took many under her wing and cared for them as her own. She enjoyed bowling with her friends and family and traveled around the state to tournaments. She was a lifetime member of the Red Hat club with her many friends.  She loved to entertain and feed her family and friends.  She always cooked for an army. Never wanted anyone to go without. From cooking to carpentry there was nothing she couldn’t do.

Betty is survived by her children, Greg (Tina Perkofski) Hagenbucher, Susan (Mike) Metz, Chris Hagenbucher, Garret (Nicole Hoffman) Hagenbucher, and Jill Bowman; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Siblings Carol Mondroski, and Judy (Brian) Goretski.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and son-in-law Jerry Bowman. Her Parents, Wilbur and Margaret (Glenteske) Epright. Two brothers William and Ronald Glenteske, and one sister Linda Stoffel. Also, her brothers in law, Dennis Mondroski, John Hagenbucher, and Thomas Hagenbucher, one sister-in-law Elinor Berndt. 

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.
