Arlene Jane Pietrzykowski

April 1, 1940 — May 15, 2026

Peplin

It is with deep sorrow we share the news that Arlene Jane (Dawiedczyk) Pietrzykowski, 86, of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin, took her final breath, surrounded by family, on May 15, 2026.

Arlene was born on April 1, 1940, the first child of Enick and Mary (Sitko) Dawiedczyk. She and her siblings, Lorraine and Terry, were raised in Peplin. Arlene attended Orton School and graduated from Mosinee High School.

Arlene married Eugene Pietrzykowski on May 28, 1960, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin (Mosinee), Wisconsin, and within days Eugene returned to White Sands Missile Base with his new wife to start their new life. Their residence was a trailer house in Organ, NM, surrounded by soldiers and their families from around the United States. While in New Mexico they attended many bullfights across the border, danced the polka to Mexican music at local taverns, and bravely fought rattlesnakes. In 1963 Eugene and Arlene returned to Wisconsin with their daughter, Ellen. At The Princess Cafe on Fourth Street, Mosinee, Eugene learned how to cook from his mother-in-law and a short time later the young couple purchased The Princess from Arlene's parents. They continued to serve a varied menu including Princess Burgers, Fries and Malts (ice cream was made on site) to family, friends, locals, and travelers: Eugene as the cook and Arlene, their kids, many family members, friends and employees tending to the customers.

During the years owning The Princess, Paul, Scott and Dan were added to the family and the couple built a house in Peplin. In 1977 they sold the restaurant and started Gene's Electric. In the 1990s Arlene began working at Big Lots, retiring 10+ years later. Within months of retirement she began working at Walmart, working there for another 10+ years.

Arlene is survived by Eugene and their children, Ellen (Joseph) Levickis, Paul, Scott, and Dan (Tara), grandchildren David, Nicholas, Alina (Luke) Haugen, Andrew, Nathan, Anthony and Thomas, Aunt Helen Papa, sisters-in-law Barb Davczyk, Irene Swinick and Delores, many nieces, nephews, godchildren and cousins and countless friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene's parents, siblings Lorraine Sawlsville and Terry Davczyk, and brothers- and sister-in-law Rodney Sawlsville, Teddy, Richard and Bob Pietrzykowski and Donna Marcis.

Per Arlene’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
